Health-content standard: This site is educational and affiliate-supported. SugarMute is a dietary supplement, not a diabetes treatment. Do not replace prescribed medication or delay medical care because of a supplement. If you have diabetes, prediabetes, kidney or liver disease, are pregnant/nursing, or take medication that affects glucose, discuss supplements with a qualified clinician or pharmacist first.
Glucomannan is a water-soluble fiber derived from konjac. SugarMute's merchant page publicly names glucomannan, but ingredient research must be interpreted carefully.
What a 2022 meta-analysis found
A systematic review included six randomized trials with 124 participants. It reported a statistically significant reduction in fasting blood glucose overall, but did not find a statistically significant effect on postprandial glucose. More trials were requested.
Why that does not prove a SugarMute effect
The analysis studied glucomannan interventions, not the SugarMute commercial formula.
